First planning meeting for 2017

This is the invitation you have been looking forward to!
You are invited to our Kick-Off Planning Weekend for the 2017 Northfield Conference!
Lisa Schermerhorn has graciously offered her home in Fayston VT the weekend of Oct 14-16.
This will be a time for us to reconnect after the summer, check-in with each other, brainstorm our theme for next summer, and of course, schmooze and eat yummy food!
Lisa’s home is about 3 I/2 hrs from Boston and about 2 1/2 hours from Montreal.

This will be “family-style indoor camping”, i.e bunk beds, pullout couches, and couches. (see photos attached). 2 bunk rooms accommodate 4 people each. Private rooms are extremely limited, so this will be an opportunity for a big pajama party for most of us. Lisa can accommodate 16 altogether on beds and couches and she also has room for air mattresses. Her friend Chrissy, who lives around the corner, is also willing to house 6 more people on bunks, as well as couches and room for air mattresses. (Lisa has 3 bath rooms).

Both Lisa and Chrissy have hot tubs, so bring your bathing suit and towel if you want to use the hot tub. Plan to bring your own linens and towels, but blankets and pillows are provided.

Lisa lives in a beautiful area near Sugar Bush. There is also opportunity for a hike nearby with waterfalls and the Sugarbush chairlift is about 15 minutes away if folks want to view the fall foliage, which we hope will still be beautiful.

We would like to accommodate as many Northfielders who want to come as possible. Since space is limited, please contact Lisa soon to let her know you are interested in coming.
If you have an airbed, or bedroll and sleeping bag you could bring, let her know that also. Camping, for those hardy folks who have winter bags and tents or small campers is a possibility as well.

We will start with dinner Friday night, and go through Sunday lunch.
Please contact Lisa if you would like to come, and after everyone is signed up we will organize meal crews.

We are very excited to be together and start our planning for next year! Put on your creative thinking cap and come with some ideas of what you think a great theme might be! If you can’t come, but want to send us your theme ideas, email Meg or Peggy.

Big hugs,
Your 2017  Program Co-chairs,

And our hostess with the mostess:
